Terms of service
Last updated 11 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of ChapterMenu. By using the service you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a chapter or organisation, you confirm you are entitled to do so.
What the service does
ChapterMenu collects meal choices and dietary requirements from your members before each meeting and produces an order you can send to your venue. We provide the software. We do not supply, prepare or deliver any food, and we have no relationship with your venue or caterer.
Allergies and food safety
This is the most important clause on this page. ChapterMenu records what your members tell it and presents that back to you. It cannot verify that the information is accurate, complete or current, and it has no way of knowing what your venue actually serves.
Responsibility for food safety rests with you and your venue. Severe and life-threatening allergies must be confirmed directly with the venue before the meeting, in addition to whatever appears on the order sheet. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any allergic reaction or other harm arising from food served at your meetings.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
- You are responsible for what your administrators do with the account.
- Only add members who expect to hear from your chapter. The service must not be used to send unsolicited email.
- You must have a lawful basis for collecting the dietary information you record.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access another chapter's data, probe or interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.
Payment
Plans are billed monthly in advance in South African Rand and exclude VAT unless stated. There is no minimum term; you may cancel at any time and the service continues until the end of the period you have paid for. We may change pricing with reasonable notice, and any change applies from your next billing period.
Availability
We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance is announced where practical. Emails are delivered through third-party providers and we cannot guarantee that every message reaches every inbox — which is why the response dashboard shows you who has not replied.
Your data
Your data remains yours. You can export your members and your meal orders at any time. See our privacy policy for how it is handled.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost business or the cost of food ordered.
Independence
ChapterMenu is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to BNI or any of its chapters.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
